Grind

Burrs, settings, and the slow business of finding out what changed.

Knowing when to stop adjusting

The failure mode I keep returning to is changing the grind in response to something that was actually water, or dose, or a bag that had gone past its best.

What helps is writing down the setting before touching it, and allowing two cups at the new one before deciding. Three or four adjustments in a single morning tell you nothing, because by then you have also changed your own expectations.

I still do it. The notes just make it easier to walk back.
