Grind

Burrs, settings, and the slow business of finding out what changed.

The distribution tool that mostly fixed my pouring

I bought a distribution tool after enough channelled shots to be annoyed about it. It helped, and for about a month I believed the explanation on the packaging.

Then I used it on a deliberately badly dosed basket and got a decent shot anyway, which suggested the tool was compensating for something I was doing wrong earlier in the process.

The honest summary is that my grinder throws grounds unevenly into the basket and the tool flattens that out. A better chute would fix the cause. The tool fixes the symptom and costs less.
